Halloween fun with friends

We had so much fun trick or treating with our friends last night. It reminded me of when I was a kid. My family would meet at my grandparents, and all the kids would go trick or treating. When we came back we would all sit in the living room and trade candy. Last night, watching them it kept reminding of then. I love having friends the live so close with kids that are the same ages. We have so much fun hanging out. I love you guys!

We had such a great time camping this weekend!!! It was so much fun for the kids to have their best friends with them on their first camping trip. Brandon had fun carving a piece of wood. I had a great time just hanging around the fire. The kids played nonstop! I can't wait to do it again!!!!

The Most Awesome Husband in the World

Last night Brandon took me to the Grand Ole Opry for my birthday. He didn't just get us tickets, he got us backstage passes. It was the coolest thing I have ever seen!!! It was so neat to see how they make the shows and radio shows. We were able to go to Terri Clarks dressing room, and talk to her. I got her autograph, and we had are picture made with her. I don't know who was more excited about that me or Brandon. She is beautiful! We also got to talk to Ricky Scaggs, Daryl Worley, and Suzy Bogguss. I got all there autographs, and had pictures made with them. It was the best present ever. I love Brandon so much! He was so thoughtful for doing this for me. I had the best night!

Happy Birthday

Last night Melissa and I with Jeff's help threw Christy a small surprise birthday party. It was hard to keep it from her, because she kept asking what we were doing this weekend. She was quite surprised, and I hope she had a good time. I know the rest of us did!

Love of My Life!

The Terri Clark song on my blog was the song that Brandon and I danced our first dance too at our wedding. Listening to it makes me think of how lucky I am to have him in my life. I really believe that a life time is not long enough to love him. We have been married for 91/2 years, and it has not all been easy, but I love him more today than the day we married. He has given me 3 wonderful children, unconditional love, support, and devotion. I love him so much!!!!!!!! I can't wait for the next 50 or so years with him! He has always told me that he loves me until there are no more stars in the heavens, and until the sea no longer touches the sand. How awesome is that!! He is my partner, my soulmate, and the love of my life!

Grandaddy

We got home from Georgia late last night. Grandaddy is doing some better. He is able to talk more and sit up some. His blood pressure came down for a little while, but then was like a yoyo again. Before we left to come home we were able to take Keeley and Preston in to the ICU to see him. It was so cute! They had to wear mask while they were in there (I will post pics. later). I think seeing the kids was the best medicine Grandaddy could have gotten. He just lite up when he saw them come in. He loves those two so much!! He missed seeing Austin, but he understood about the school thing. I love him so much, and am so glad we were able to go down to see him!

Love of a Grandfather

My Grandfather is 86 years old. He is not in very good health, and was rushed to the hospital this morning after a fall. We do not know what is going on right now, but they have him in ICU. Grandaddy is the most amazing man you could ever meet!!!! He has a very deep love and devotion for my grandmother that passed away three years ago. When anyone ask him if he is married he will tell them yes, but they are temporarily seperated. He has always had the same love and devotion for his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He has five children, 12 grandkids, 15 great grandkids. I love this man dearly!! I got married on his birthday, because it was his birthday. Grandma, and Grandaddy would always make their rounds on christmas morning to see what Santa brought all the grandkids, and would end at our house to have Christmas breakfast. After breakfast I would go back to there house to help get everything ready for the family to come for Christmas at their house. I have always loved and cherrished the time I spent with them. I don't know if God is ready to take him home to be with Grandma or not. I can only know that that God knows the right time. I can rest assure that if his time is now he will be with God and Grandma. If this is the time it will hurt, but I know that I have 34 years of wonderful memories of a wonderful, loving, caring, God fearing man. Please pray that if it is his time that he does not suffer. I love you Grandaddy!!!!!

Kids

I think we have finally gotten over our little " see how far we can push mom" phase. The kids all seem to be doing better. Of course now that I have said this they will prove me wrong. I don't know what had gotten into the kids, but they just would not listen to me. I have started a new trick. We put 15 hot tamales in a jar, if they get in trouble they have to remove one, and if they are good they get to put one in. It seems to be working. I will let you know if it continues to work.

At times like this week, when the kids won't listen to me, they fight with each other, and they just disobey is when I miss this age.

Friends

This weekend was so much fun! It was great hanging out with my friends. I love the fact that all our kids get along so great, and that we can just hang out! It is amazing to me how quickly we have clicked. It feels like I have known them my whole life, and I can't imagine my life without them in it. I love you guys!

The things kids say1

I have been noticing that Keeley kept putting electrical tape on her legs. When I asked her about it she said it was her bandaids. Yesterday, I saw her getting it and told her not to touch it. She continued to hold it, and I told her to put it down or get a spanking. She preceeded to tell me "well, I guess you just need to put it where I can't reach it then". I didn't know weither to spank her for being a smart mouth or laugh. I had to leave the room. I just couldn't believe that she had just said that. I know that I am going to have a hard time when she gets older.

School Work

Melissa and Angie have inspired me to start working with Preston and Keeley. I guess you could say that I am home schooling them. I was unable to get them into a Pre-K program. Today we started with the letter A. I found a great web site (http://www.edhelper.com/). They had some great work sheets that I printed off, and them they cut out the letter A from magazine pages and glued them to another sheet. They did really well with it being the first day. I just pray that I continue to have the patients that I need to continue.

Going back to Georgia

Today my parents left to go back to Georgia. We had such a great time with them. We went out to eat, to the Sounds game, the kids rode their bikes with them, and we went to Maggie Moos. It is always sad to see them go, but it just makes the times we spend together much more meaningful. I know they hate to go as much as we hate to see them go. I love my parents and Grandad so much. They are very special people. I can't wait to see them next time.

Fun at the Sounds Game

This weekend my parents cameup from Georgia with my Grandad. We love spending time with them. My children are very fortunate to not only have four loving grandparents, but a great grandad too. They love spending time with Nana, Pop, and Grandad. Tonight we went to the Sounds game. It was so much fun!!! The Sounds won!
